Keynote speakers – Mark Cira, Navigant Consulting, Inc.
Mark Cira is a Managing Consultant in the Energy practice at Navigant Consulting. Mr. Cira primarily assists the Energy practice with strategic development, business process improvement, generation benchmarking, and power generation performance improvement. Mr. Cira is in his eighth year of consulting within the energy industry. At Navigant Consulting, he has assisted in the facilitation of a fleet-wide operations improvement initiative, supported numerous generation benchmarking studies, contributed to the development of policies and procedures to increase the effectiveness and control of major maintenance outages and equipment modifications at power plants, and participated in several staffing and organizational design studies for utilities seeking to optimize their workforces.
Prior to joining Navigant Consulting, Mr. Cira performed project controls and management consulting for the construction of energy assets including independent reviews and recommendations to boards of directors and senior management on projects such as environmental controls retrofits for coal-fired power plants, a nuclear power plant refurbishment, construction of a new coal-fired power plant, and construction of a wind farm. He has also provided dispute resolution support for power plant retrofits and off-shore oil platforms, and assisted with private equity transaction due diligence reviews. Mr. Cira is a graduate of Iowa State University with a BS in Accounting and is also a CPA in Illinois.
